This is the internationally known cocktail that Ernest Hemingway enjoyed in one Havana bar and described in his novel “Island in the Gulf”. Although the great writer preferred to take it without sugar and instead loaded with more rum, this version of the daiquiri is called Papa Hemingway.
How Prepare the original Floridita's Daiquiri
- 0.25 oz. granulated cane sugar (adjust to your taste)
- 4 oz. Ice cubes
- 0.25 oz. Lime juice
- 5 drops of Maraschino
- 1.5 oz. Bacardi Carta Blanca Superior White Rum (adjust to your taste)
- Add maraschino, sugar, and lime juice in a blender. Before turning on the blender, mix the sugar thoroughly.
- Add Rum and ice, then blend for 15 seconds. When done, pour in a cocktail glass and serve with two short straw.
